We all have visions of grandeur .
Being remembered for doing something that the world will take notice of.
Keep in mind that such things are only your accomplishments. And not you.
Your name may be remembered but what about your thoughts and desires?
Who will know about your dreams, heartbreaks and lessons learned?
How can your feelings of joy be preserved?
They can’t. Sure they can be written about but never truly shared.
Even the accomplishments will be forgotten to the masses.
Yes they might be able to look at a statue or picture.
But in time these things will lose their impact.
One day you too will be looked upon as just someone who did something a long time ago,
and it has no meaning to the modern world.
You may have opened a gate of sorts, but as the path is traveled the gate gets farther and farther out of sight and out of mind.
What we seek is gratification in our actions and approval from others.
But the gratification and approval we seek must come from within ourselves.
You can do something that others will celebrate, that to you means nothing.
Or you could do something that truly brings a joyful feeling to yourself and a small few,
That no one notices.
But it is that thing that goes unnoticed that makes you feel glad for the day,
and thankful when your head hits the pillow.
These are the things that make your life truly memorable...To you.
It is your satisfaction with your life that matters.
Statues and awards will not give you contentment.
That can only be determined by you.
How happy are you with how you are living?
If there is a Creator what will they say about your decisions?
Did you strive to always do what is right, or what would gain you notirity?
You are truly the only judge of yourself.
It is your mind that determines if you did good.
Your mark upon this world is best determined by you.
Live as though you are the one who brings about change.
Be proud of the things you do, and don’t look to others to acknowledge them.
Make your choices as though you knew it would be the last decision you will ever make.
And that your whole lifes worth will be based on that one decision.
Live free, happy and joyful.
Look at your world as yours to mold.
And that your choices will determine how you see it.
Caos can be ringing all around you.
Suffering and trials everywhere you look.
But your one good deed can make the difference between someone going to bed with despair or hope.
How do you feel when you go to bed at night?
That is how you know if you are living right.
If when you lay down and you know you did something good,
it outweighs those things that are going on around you.
If you have created a light it will out shine the concerns.
And you will have a peaceful feeling.
These are the things that make your life truly worthwhile.
Joy is a selfless emotion.
It does not seek admiration; for such things are ego.
True joy has no ego, only selflessness.
Find the things that bring joy to you and others.
Let them be your monument.
Seek those things that will bring you happiness when you think back on them.
Those things that brought joy and happiness to others.
These selfless acts are what truly give you a feeling of gratification.
And put life in your years.
